dc.description.abstract20. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından sonra dünya ekonomik, siyasal ve sosyal yönden önemli değişimlere ve ilerlemelere sahne olmuştur. Bu değişimde en büyük ve önemli payı alan sektörlerden birisi de turizm sektörü olmuştur. Küreselleşme ile paralel bir şekilde ilerleyen turizm sektörü gelir getirici etkisi nedeniyle tüm dünyada alternatif bir endüstri halini almıştır. Turizmin bu şekilde popüler bir endüstri olması, milyarlar dolarları aşan bir ekonomik kaynak haline dönüşmesi onu uluslararası boyutta tartışılır hale getirmiştir. Turizm sektörü, doğrudan ve dolaylı olarak çok sayıda sektörü olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Ama bu durum gelir getirici ekonomik etkinin yanı sıra çevresel problemleri de beraberinde getirmektedir. Küreselleşme kaynaklı artan turist dolaşımı, fosil yakıt kullanımı ile sera gazı ve CO2 emisyonunu arttırmaktadır. CO2 emisyonunda meydana gelen artışın birçok sebebi bulunmakla birlikte turizm faaliyetleri neticesinde ortaya çıkan etkileri de yadsınamaz. Yine turizm kaynaklı su, toprak vb. kirlilikler de azımsanmayacak ölçüdedir. Tezde 1960-2014 dönemine ait veriler kullanılarak, turist sayısı, turizm gelirleri ve CO2 emisyon değişkenleri arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Verilerin Ekonometrik analizinde VAR modeli yardımıyla LnTR, LnTS ve LnCO2 değişkenleri analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, turist sayısı ile çevre arasında nedensellik olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır. Yapılan varyans ayrıştırması bulguları ise turist sayısında değişmenin CO2 emisyonundan kaynaklandığı tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen ampirik kanıtlar turizm aktörlerine ve politika yapıcılara yol gösterici olabilir.en_US
dc.description.abstractAfter the second half of the 20th century, the world witnessed important changes and advances in economic, social and political aspects. Tourism sector is one of the sectors which has the biggest and important share in this change. The tourism sector, which is proceeding in parallel with globalization, has become an alternative industry all over the world due to its income generating effect. The fact that tourism is such a popular industry and turned into an economic resource exceeding billion dollars has made it internationally controversial. Tourism sector directly and indirectly affects many sectors positively but this situation brings environmental problems along with the income generating economic effects. Increasing tourist circulation due to globalization increases the use of fossil fuels, greenhouse gases and CO2 emissions. Although there are many reasons for the increase in CO2 emissions, the effects resulting from tourism activities are also undeniable. Again, it is at a considerable level in pollution such as water and soil caused by tourism. In the thesis, the relationship between the number of tourists, tourism revenues and CO2 emission variables was analyzed by using data from the period of 1960-2014. In the econometric analysis of the data, LnTR, LnTS and LnCO2 variables were analyzed with the help of VAR model. The findings has revealed that there is causality between the number of tourists and the environment. On the other hand, the variance decomposition finding has revealed that the change in the number of tourist is due to CO2 emission. Empirical evidence obtained may guide tourism actors and policy makers.en_US
