dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada, Orta Çağ Tarihine ve eğitimine büyük katkıları olmuş, Türkiye’de Üniversite yapılanması sırasında öğretim üyeliği yapmış olan Vasiliy Vladimiroviç Barthold’un hayatı, eserleri ve Orta Çağ Tarih eğitimine katkıları ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın konusu, amacı ve metodu hakkında bilgi verildikten sonra Oryantalizm kelimesinin tanım ve amacı ile Rus Oryantalizminin kısa tarihine değinilmiş ve bu kavramın Rusya’da nasıl ortaya çıktığı hususu incelenmiştir. Ardından Barthold’un hayatı, yetiştiği çevre, çocukluğu, aldığı eğitim, bilimsel çalışmaları, ölümü ve kişiliği ele alınmıştır. Ondan sonra yayımlanan kitapları, makaleleri, konferansları, gezileri, topografik incelemeleri, kütüphane çalışmaları, dünyanın değişik üniversitelerindeki dersleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Son olarak Barthold’un Orta Çağ Tarih eğitimine katkıları üzerinde durulmuştur. Kitap tanıtımlarına, eleştirilerine ve hakkında yapılan eleştirilere, ayrıca Orta Çağ Tarihi’yle alakalı görüşlerine değinilerek çalışma neticelendirilmiştir. O, yaptığı araştırmalarla İslam âlemine ve Türk dünyasına önemli hizmetlerde bulunmuş ve özellikle İslamiyet’ten sonraki Türk tarihi hakkında çok değerli çalışmalar meydana getirmiş, adeta yeniden keşfedilmeyi bekleyen hazine değerinde bir tarihçi olarak halen gündemdeki yerini korumaktadır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis research that handles Vasiliy Vladimiroviç Barthold’s life, works and his contributions to the Middle Ages History Educations. He has contributed to the middle ages history and education and has worked as a faculty member at the time of structuring university in Turkey consists of introduction, result and three main parts. Next information about the topic, aim and the methodology of the research, the meaning and aim of the word “orientalism” and the brief history of the Russian orientalism are mentioned and also how this concept is occurred in Russia is analysed. Then, the life of Barthold, the environment in which he grew up; his childhood, education, scientific researches, death and his personality are discussed. Next, much many information about his books, articles, conferences, travels, topographical analysis, library studies and his lessons which he had given in many different universities of the world are given. Finally, the contributions of Barthold to the Middle Age History Education are mentioned. And the research is resulted in dealing with the demonstrations of his books, the critiques he made and made about him and also his thoughts about Middle Age History. Barthold contributed to the Islam and Turkish history a lot with his studies; created many valuable works especially about the Turkish history after Islam and he still maintains his value as a historian just like a precious treasure waiting for a rediscovery.en_US
