| dc.description.abstract | Bipolar Bozukluklu Hastaların Kardeşlerinde Nöropsikolojik İşlevlerin DeğerlendirilmesiBu çalışmada, bipolar bozukluklu (BPB) hastaların etkilenmemiş kardeşlerinin bilişsel işlevlerini sağlıklı kontrollerle karşılaştırarak endofenotip adayı olabilecek bilişsel işlevlerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Çalışmaya bipolar bozukluklu hastaların etkilenmemiş kardeşleri (n=75) ve sağlıklı gönüllüler (n=50) alındı. Katılımcıların sosyodemografik ve klinik özellikleri tarandı. Her bireye DSM-IV'e göre Eksen-I psikiyatrik bozuklukların tanısını araştırmak için SCID-I uygulandı. Çizgi yönünü belirleme testi (ÇYBT) ile görsel uzamsal işlev, Sayı Dizisi Öğrenme Testi (SDÖT) ve İşitsel Sözel Öğrenme Testi (AVLT) ile sözel bellek ve öğrenme, Stroop Testi ile seçici dikkat ve cevap inhibisyonu, İz Sürme Testi ile psikomotor hız ve kurulumu değiştirme değerlendirildi.SDÖT, iz sürme A ve B testinde BPB'li hastaların kardeşleri ve kontrol grubu arasında anlamlı fark tesbit edilmedi. ÇYBT, AVLT ve Stroop Testinde BPB'li hastaların sağlıklı kardeşleri kontrol grubundan anlamlı olarak daha kötü performans gösterdi.Bu çalışmanın sonuçları görsel uzamsal işlev, cevap inhibisyonu, seçici dikkat, uzun süreli bellek ve tanıma belleğinin BPB için endofenotip adayı olabileceğini göstermektedir. Bu alanda daha kapsamlı nöropsikolojik testlerin kullanıldığı, daha geniş örneklem ile yapılan uzunlamasına çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The assessment of the neuropsychological functions of siblings of patients with bipolar disorderThe aim of the present study was to assess cognitive functions in unaffected siblings of patients with bipolar disorder (BD) comparing with the healthy subjects with a negative family history.The unaffected siblings of patients with BD (n=75) and healthy volunteers with a negative family (n=50) were enrolled in the study. The sociodemographic and clinical features of the patients and the control subjects were recorded and SCID-I was administered to determine the existence of any psychiatric morbidity. Visuospatial abilities were evaluated by using the Judgment of Line Orientation Test (JLOT). The Auditory Verbal Learning Test (AVLT) and the Serial Digit Learning Test (SDLT) were used to assess verbal learning and memory. The Stroop Test was used to assess response inhibition and selective attention. Psychomotor speed and set shifting were evaluated by the Trail Making Test (TMT).There was no difference in TMT and SDLT between unaffected siblings of patients with BD and control subjects. The unaffected siblings of patients with BD showed significantly poorer performance on the AVLT, the JLOT and the Stroop Test compared with control group.This study suggests that visuospatial ability, response inhibition, selective attention, long delay free recall and recognition memory may be endophenotypic markers for BD Longitudinal studies using more comprehensive tests with larger population are need. | en_US |
