Öğe Examining Internet Addiction in Gifted and Talented Students through Different Variables(Turkish Green Crescent Soc, 2019) Kurnaz, Ahmet; Tepe, AynurOn the one hand, the Internet is an indispensable tool of today; on the other hand, it has become a main risk that causes addiction. This study aims to examine the relationship of Internet addiction in gifted and talented students with their gender; having smartphones, computers. and Internet access; purpose for using the Internet; the frequency of Internet use; and time spent on it. This study has been conducted using the causal-comparative and correlational research designs; 421 gifted and talented students studying at the Science and Art Centers in Ankara, Kirikkale, Kirsehir, and Siirt participated in the study. The Internet Addiction Scale has been used to identify participants' Internet addiction levels. Data were collected in May, 2015. The results reveal that gender doesn't have a significant effect on gifted students' Internet addiction and that deprivation, control difficulty; general Internet addiction is high for students with smartphones; and students with computers and smartphones with access to the Internet are more addicted to the Internet. Internet addiction levels are higher for students who use the Internet for chatting, playing games. and social media than for students who use the Internet for doing research. The more frequently a student uses the Internet and the more time spent on it increases the addiction level.Öğe Examining Internet Addiction in Gifted and Talented Students through Different Variables(Turkish Green Crescent Soc, 2019) Kurnaz, Ahmet; Tepe, AynurOn the one hand, the Internet is an indispensable tool of today; on the other hand, it has become a main risk that causes addiction. The participants of this study are 260 seventh grade gifted students, who attend science and art centers located in Adana, Bursa, Corum, Elazig, Izmir, Izmit, Kayseri, Konya, Manisa and Salihli. Of all the participants, 51.50 % were female (n=134) and 48.50 % were male (n=126). The Sources of Self-Efficacy in Mathematics Scale was used to determine students' sources of self-efficacy in mathematics and the Mathematics Anxiety Scale was used to determine their levels of mathematics anxiety. The data were analyzed through multiple linear regressions. The results showed that of all the sources of self-efficacy in mathematics, namely personal experiences, vicarious experiences, social persuasions and physiological states, only personal experiences had a significant effect on gifted students' levels of mathematics anxiety. The sources of self-efficacy in mathematics were found to account for about 48% of variance in gifted students' levels of mathematics anxiety. The findings were discussed in the light of theoretical framework.Öğe An Investigation of the Effects of the Mathematics Sources of Self-Efficacy on Talented Students' Mathematics Anxiety(Pegem Akad Yayincilik Egitim Danismanlik Hizmetleri Tic Ltd Sti, 2015) Yurt, Eyup; Kurnaz, AhmetThis study aims to investigate the effects of the sources of self-efficacy in mathematics on gifted students' mathematics anxiety. CREATIVE READING PERCEPTIONS AND THEIR READING MOTIVATION(Univ Cienfuegos, 2023) Pursun, Tugba; Arslantas, Suleyman; Kurnaz, AhmetThe purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between fourth grade students' perceptions of creative reading and their reading motivation, as well as students' perceptions of creative reading and reading motivation in relation to different variables. The study was designed ac-cording to the relational screening model. A convenience sampling method was adopted to determine the sample of 337 fourth grade students. Research data were collected using the Background Information Form, the Creative Reading Perception Scale, and Reading Motivation Scale. The results of the study showed that there is a moderate relationship between students' perceptions of creative reading and their reading motivation. When the creative reading perception scale and reading motivation were evaluated in terms of their total scores, it was de-termined that the students' creative reading perceptions and reading motivations differed significantly according to gender, the income level of the mother's family and the presence of a library at home.Öğe Özel Yetenekli Öğrencilerin Matematik Öz-Yeterlik Kaynaklarının Matematik Kaygıları Üzerindeki Etkilerinin İncelenmesi(2015) Kurnaz, Ahmet; Yurt, EyüpBu araştırmada, özel yetenekli (ÖY) öğrencilerin matematik öz-yeterlik kaynaklarının matematik kaygıları üzerindeki etkilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular kuramsal açıklamalar ışığında tartışılmıştır.Öğe Self and Task Perception towards Visual Arts Course Scale: Validity and Reliability Study(Univ Granada, Fac Ciencias Educacion, 2022) Kurnaz, Ahmet; Temel, Rengin; Arslantas, Suleyman; Pursun, TugbaThis study aims to develop a scale to determine self and task perception of high school students towards visual arts course. In the development process following stages were followed: scanning the literature, examining previously developed scales, creating an item pool, getting expert opinions, doing a pilot study, doing item analysis, test-retest process, and data analysis. 259 high school students from 9th to 12th grades participated in the study and test-retest was conducted on 50 students. Six-factor draft form of the scale was formed by taking Expectancy-Value Theory into consideration. According to the CFA principles the scale has six factors, which are intrinsic value, attainment value/importance, extrinsic value, expectancy belief, task difficulty, required effort. The Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficients of six factors were found as 0,77; 0,82; 0,70; 0,87; 0,70 and 0,67 respectively. According to the test-retest results, it was found out that the stability of the scale was high. The results of item analysis according to means of lower-higher groups showed that each item in the scale was distinctive. For the criterion validity, the correlation between the scores obtained from the subscales and the scores obtained from the motivation factor of Motivating Strategies in Learning Scale were examined and it was found that the present scale was correlated with the motivation factor of Motivating Strategies in Learning Scale. It was found that there existed a low, medium, and high correlation among the subscales.Öğe Üstün Zekâlı ve Yetenekli Öğrencilerin Değer Algılarının Betimsel Bir Analizi(2013) Kurnaz, Ahmet; Çiftci, Ümit; Karapazar, HilalBu araştırmanın genel amacı, üstün zekâlı ve yetenekli öğrencilerin değerleri nasıl algıladıklarını metaforlar yoluyla belirlemektir.
