Öğe Examination of Personal Innovativeness Perceptions and Work Engagement Behaviors of Sports Instructors(Int Journal Applied Exercise Physiology, 2020) Atilgan, Davut; Tukel, YalcinIn this research, it was aimed to examine the relationship level between personal innovativeness perceptions and work engagement behaviors of sports instructors as well as whether there are differences in terms of some demographic variables. The research is a quantitative study and was conducted in a correlational survey model. The sample of the study consists of 347 participants, including 189 physical education teachers working in schools associated to Konya and Kahramanmaras National Education Directorates and 158 Trainers working within the structure of provincial directorates of youth and sports of these city centers. The data of the research were analyzed by using statistical software program. For data analysis, arithmetic average and standard deviation values were determined, and t -Test and One -Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test were used to determine the differentiation status of the scores obtained for the variables. In addition, correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between variables, and regression analysis was used to test the regression state of independent variables for dependent variables. As a result of the research; It was observed that the personal innovativeness scale scores of the participants were close to the innovative level and the participants were mostly included in the leader and querier groups. It was determined that the scores of the participants on the personal innovativeness scale sub -dimensions differed significantly in terms of gender, education and task type variables. In the research, it was also found that resistance to change, opinion leadership, openness to experience and risk -taking, which are independent variables, show a moderate and significant relationship with the participants' work engagement. As another result of the research, it was concluded that only the sub -dimension of openness to experience, that is one of personal innovativeness scale variables, is a significant predictor for work engagement.Öğe The influence of learning styles and academic success motivations on prospective students taking a physical education special skill exam based on a few parameters(Iermakov S S, 2023) Temel, Abdullah Sencer; Aydogmus, Mevluet; Tukel, Yalcin; Atilgan, DavutBackground and Study Aim Learning styles are the foundation of how students learn and the unique paths to individual development. So they must be considered when assessing academic progress. The primary objective of this research endeavor is to investigate the learning styles and academic motivation exhibited by individuals aspiring to enroll in the faculty of sports sciences.Material and Methods The study's population comprises 4104 candidates who applied to the special talent entrance examination at the Faculty of Sport Sciences in the Selcuk University. The survey was administered to a sample of 378 individuals, consisting of 215 male and 163 female students, who are planning to take the special skill entrance exam for the faculty of sport science. Selcuk and Necmettin Erbakan Universities in Konya used random sampling to select participants from prospective students for the study. The questionnaire served as the primary instrument for conducting descriptive, correlational, and regression analyses. To fulfill the research objectives, the Academic Motivation Scale and Kolb Learning Styles Inventory were employed. The reliability and validity of these scales were rigorously examined by the researchers. Results The study provides evidence that students who utilized multiple learning styles had significantly higher academic motivation. Conclusions In conclusion, this study emphasizes the significance of learning styles in evaluating academic progress in sports sciences. Individuals utilizing converging, accommodating, and multiple learning styles show higher academic motivation, emphasizing the need to foster diverse learning approaches for student engagement and success.Öğe The influence of learning styles and academic success motivations on prospective students taking a physical education special skill exam based on a few parameters(Iermakov S S, 2023) Temel, Abdullah Sencer; Aydogmus, Mevluet; Tukel, Yalcin; Atilgan, DavutBackground and Study Aim Learning styles are the foundation of how students learn and the unique paths to individual development. The sample group of the study consisted of voluntary students studying at various faculties and departments of universities by using the appropriate sampling method. A total of 690 university students, 460 female (66.7%) and 230 male (33.3%), participated in the study. The Smartphone Addiction Scale Short Form (SPAS-SF)developed by Kwon et al. (2013) and adapted into Turkish and validated by Noyan et al. (2015) was used to measure the smartphone addiction levels of participants, and the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire Short Formdeveloped by Hills and Argyle (2002) and adapted into Turkish by Dogan and Cotok (2006) was used to identify the happiness level of participants. In data analysis, descriptive statistical methods such as percentage and frequency were used to identify the distribution of the personal information of participants, coefficients of kurtosis and skewness of the data were identified to see whether data showed normal distribution, and data were found to be fit for parametric test conditions. T-test and ANOVA tests were performed in addition to descriptive statistics methods, Tukey HSD Multiple Comparison Test was performed to identify from which groups the significant difference stems from and the correlation test to test the relationship between happiness level and smartphone addiction (alpha = 0.05). As a result, it was found that there was no significant relationship between happiness levels and smartphone addiction of participants by sex and age variables. However, a significant difference was found in smartphone use by school year variable and in happiness level by level of welfare. A positive significant relationship was found between the happiness levels of participants and smartphone addiction.
