dc.description.abstractTurizm ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel açıdan önem taşıyan bir sektördür. Ekonominin kalkınmasındaki önemli rolünün yanı sıra kültürler arası iletişim ve sosyal etkileşim için önemli yollardan biridir. Turizm faaliyetlerinin etkin bir şekilde sürdürülebilmesi için ülke ekonomik ve politik durumunun güven verecek düzeyde istikrarlı olması önemlidir. Diğer yandan turizmden elde edilen gelirin artırılabilmesi, maliyetlerin düşürülmesi ve kaynakların etkin kullanılabilmesi de turizm alanında faaliyet gösteren işletmelerin belirli ölçüde kontrol edebilecekleri konular arasındadır. Konaklama işletmeleri, turizm sektörünün varlığı ve sürdürülebilirliği açısından önem taşımaları, bu sektör içinde önemli paya sahip olmaları ve işletme yönetimi anlamında birçok farklı uygulama alanı bulmaları nedeniyle bu çalışma kapsamına alınmışlardır. Çalışmanın temel amacı konaklama işletmeleri tarafından kullanılan stratejik yönetim muhasebesi uygulamaları ve bütünleşik bilgi sistemlerinin işletme performansına etkisinin tespit edilmesidir. Çalışma amacı doğrultusunda Türkiye genelinde faaliyet gösteren 5 yıldızlı otellerin tamamına anket veri toplama tekniği uygulanarak araştırma yapılmıştır. Bu şekilde otellerde kullanılan stratejik nitelikli uygulamalar ve bütünleşik bilgi sistemleri tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu sistem ve uygulamaların işletme performansına olan etkileri istatistiksel olarak incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda Türkiye'de faaliyet gösteren 5 yıldızlı otellerde stratejik yönetim muhasebesi araçlarının ve bütünleşik bilgi sistemlerinin yoğun olarak kullanıldığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca uygulanan bu sistem ve araçların işletme performansı üzerinde olumlu etkilerinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractTourism is an important industry with respect to its social, cultural and economic aspects. Additional to its role regarding to the economic development it might be evaluated as an important intermediary for inter cultural communication and social interaction. In order to sustain the tourism activities efficiently economic and political stability of the country at a level which inspires confidence seems to be a necessity. On the other hand increasing tourism revenues, decreasing costs and efficient use of resources might be considered as the responsibility and ability of tourism operations to some extent. Accommodation establishments are considered as the main operations within the scope of this study with respect to their share within the tourism industry, their importance with respect to the existence and sustainability of industry and their operational nature which is constituted of many aspects of management science. Major aim of this study is to determine the effects of strategic management accounting tools and integrated information systems which are used by accommodation operations on business performance. Within the scope of this study a structured questionnaire is used as the data collection tool and an electronically arranged questionnaire form is e-mailed to all five star hotels located in different parts of Turkey. By means of this questionnaire strategically qualified applications and integrated information systems used by five star hotels are determined and effects of these applications and systems on business performance are probed and analyzed statistically. Findings of the research revealed that strategic management accounting tools and integrated information systems are intensely used by five star hotels operating in Turkey. Additionally it is revealed that integrated information systems and strategic management accounting tools are positively related to and affect the business performance.en_US
