Faik Ömer Efendi, who lived in the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries, served in many positions for the Ottoman State and sat in the same councils with statemen. He was a poet and an Ottoman intellectual who also had mystical tendencies. There is no information about his place and date of birth. He died in 1245/1829 in İstanbul. Faik Ömer Efendi had many works, including his Turkish and Persian diwans. Among his works there is a diwan-ı nu'ut, which is not citied in any old literary sources. The manuscript, which is published for the first time in this paper, is listed in Yapı Kredi Sermet çifter Araştırma Kütüphanesi in the number of 554/2. It consists of lyrics (gazel) which are written by making rhyme with each letter of the Ottoman Turkish alphabet. In the end of the manuscript, there is also a eulogy for The Twelve Imams written by the poet. It can be seen in the Diwan-ı Nu'ut that Faik Ömer Efendi has preferred a quite simple style in all his lyrics. This simplicity is also in line with the poet's style in his Turkish and Persian diwans.
