Turizmin Yerel Halkın Yaşam Kalitesi, Memnuniyeti ve Turizme Desteği Üzerindeki Etkileri: Manavgat Örneği

Özet
Turizm sektörü her zaman olduğu gibi bugün de kitleleri harekete geçirmeye, ülkelerin ekonomilerini etkilemeye, toplumların sosyal ve kültürel yaşamlarının şekillenmesinde rol oynamaya devam etmektedir. Bu kapsamda, turizmin ulusal ve küresel ölçekte en etkin ve önemli sektörlerden biri olduğu yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Turizmin etkilerine bağlı olarak yerel halkın yaşam kalitesinin, yaşam yeri memnuniyetinin ve turizm gelişimine verilen desteğin ele alındığı bu çalışmanın amacı yerel halkın turizmin etkilerini nasıl algıladıklarını ölçmek, yerel halkın yaşam kalitesine bağlı olarak yaşadıkları yerden memnun olup olmadıklarını ve turizm gelişimine verdikleri desteği incelemektir. Çalışma verilerinin toplanması amacıyla öncelikle kapsamlı bir literatür taraması yapılmış ulaşılan bilgiler ışığında anket formu oluşturulmuştur. Kullanılan anket formu Türkçe olarak hazırlanmış ve Manavgat'ta yaşayan yerel halka uygulanmıştır. Anket formu uygulanırken, toplumun her kesiminden veri toplanması ve araştırmanın amaçlarının gerçeği yansıtması ve uygulanabilir olması fikri benimsenmiştir. Araştırmaya 639 kişi katılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, turizmin yöre halkı üzerinde ekonomik, sosyokültürel ve çevresel etkilerinden oluşan üç boyutlu bir yapı elde edilmiştir. Turizmin ekonomik etkileri yöre halkının doğrudan yaşam kalitesine etki ederken, sosyokültürel ve çevresel etkilerinin yaşam kalitesini etkilemediği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca sosyokültürel ve çevresel etkilerin yöre halkının turizm gelişimini destekleme üzerinde güçlü bir etkisinin olduğu çalışma bulgularında elde edilmiştir. Ekonomik etkilerin ise turizm gelişimini destekleme üzerinde herhangi bir etkisi bulunmamaktadır. Yöre halkının yaşam kalitesi doğrudan yaşam yeri memnuniyeti ve turizm gelişimine verilen destek üzerinde etkiliyken buna paralel olarak yaşam yeri memnuniyeti turizm gelişimine verilen desteği arttırdığı saptanmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen bulgular neticesinde alanyazında çalışan akademisyenlere, sektör temsilcilerine, turizm politika planlayıcılarına ve destinasyon yönetim örgütlerine öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
As it always has been, the tourism sector has been continuing to mobilize the masses, affect the economies of countries either positively or negatively and play a key role in shaping the social and cultural lives of societies. Within this context, it is an undeniable fact that, both on a national and global scale, tourism is and will continue to be one of the most effective and important sectors. The main objective of this study, which deals with the quality of life of the local people, the residential area satisfaction and the support given to tourism development depending on the impacts of tourism, is to measure the extent to which the local people feel the impacts of tourism and how they perceive them. Another objective of the study is to examine whether the local people are satisfied with the place in which they live and their support for tourism development depending on their quality of life. What's more, measuring the effect of residential area satisfaction on the support given to tourism development is also one of the objectives of the study. In order to collect the data regarding the study, initially, a comprehensive literature review was made and the questionnaire form was created in the light of the information obtained. The aforementioned questionnaire form was prepared in Turkish and applied to the local people living in Manavgat District. While applying the questionnaire, the idea of collecting data from all the segments of the society and ensuring that the aims of the research reflect the truth and be applicable has been adopted. Subsequently, 639 people participated in the research. As a result of the research, a three-dimensional structure, which consists of the economic, socio-cultural and environmental impacts of tourism on the local people, has been obtained. It has been concluded that while the economic impacts of tourism directly influence the quality of life of the local people, the socio-cultural and environmental impacts do not have a specific and considerable effect on the quality of life. Besides, it has also been obtained through the findings of the study that socio-cultural and environmental impacts have a strong influence on the support given to tourism development by the local people. The economic impacts of tourism, on the other hand, do not have any effect on the support for tourism development. It has been determined that while the quality of life of the local people is directly influential on the residential area satisfaction and the support given to tourism development, the residential area satisfaction correspondingly increases the support given to tourism development. Last but not least, within the scope of the research findings, a number of suggestions have been made to the sector representatives, tourism policy planners, destination management organizations and the academicians carrying out researches in the literature.
