Özet
Dünyada önlenebilir erken ölüm ve sakatlık nedenlerinin başında sigara kullanımı yer almaktadır. Nikotin replasman tedavisi (NRT), vareniklin ve bupropion HCL başlıca sigara bırakma ilaçlarıdır. Bupropion HCL hem depresyon, hem de sigara bırakma tedavisinde kullanılan bir preparattır. Bupropion; norepinefrin ve dopamin geri alım inhibitörü olarak etki eden ve yan etki profili bakımından oldukça güvenli sayılabilecek bir antidepresan ilaçtır. Pek çok ilaç cilt reaksiyonlarına sebep olabilir. Tüm dünyada antidepresanlara bağlı gelişen dermatolojik yan etkiler oldukça fazladır. Bupropion’un en sık görülen yan etkileri; uykusuzluk, konstipasyon, baş ağrısı ve ağız kuruluğu şeklindedir. Yazımızda bu yan etkilerden farklı olarak, terapötik dozda yavaş salınımlı bupropion kullanımı sırasında ortaya çıkan bir serum hastalığı benzeri reaksiyon olgusu sunuldu.
Tobacco is the leading cause of preventable premature death and disabilities in the world. Current cessation medications include nicotine replacement therapy (NRT), varenicline, and bupropion. Bupropion is used for smoking cessation therapy as well as depression treatment. Bupropion HCL is an antidepresant that acts as a norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor and has a favorable side-effect profile. Many drugs may cause skin reactions. Dermatologic adverse effects have increased because use of antidepressant drugs all over the world. The most common side-effects of Bupropion HCL include insomnia, constipation, headache and dry mouth. Unlike these side-effects, we present a case of serum sickness-like reaction due to sustained-release bupropion SR during smoking cessation therapy in this case report.
